The United Reformed Church in South Leeds

Summer Fair - 23rd/24th July

Our Summer Fair was attended by lots of people of all shapes, sizes and ages, looking at all the many wonderfully colourful and fascinating stalls which packed full every available space in the church building.

There were many complimentary remarks made about how wonderful the new building is and what a lovely friendly atmosphere pervades here.

Michael did a roaring trade with his beef burgers, hot-dogs and especially his tasty bacon 'butties' - yummy!  As usual the refreshment bar was a hive of activity serving delicious looking buns.

Many appreciative comments were made about how good it was that there was so much for the children of all ages to do such as 'hook a duck', hoopla, soft toy tombola and the craft workshops which were well attended by children making cards, boxes and the most enjoyed by all concerned, the making of scarecrows - there was hay everywhere - messy but such fun.  Even the little ones had a go at colouring pictures or joining the teddy bears in their picnic!

Sunday saw less but a steady stream of people which started off the day early with a good old community singing session which was done with gusto, the children helping to show us the actions to the song 'If you are happy and you know it' and we each had a good laugh getting all the actions mixed up!  Some people with children who only came for a quick look stayed a couple of hours and two young girls who came on their own wanted to join and they had fun too - amazing.  Everyone seemed to have a wonderful time and all the helpers worked very hard but agreed it was worth it.

Roll on the Autumn Fair!
