Our Church:

Providence is the smallest church within the 'Halifax Group' but we are there for you.  We hold our service every Sunday morning at 11.15am but five times a year we share a service with other members of the group Carlton, Heath and New Hope.

Situated in the Ovenden area you can find us on Keighley Road opposite the Beechwood Health Centre.  Just look for the nice lawns and tree-lined path leading to the main entrance...Don't be apprehensive just pop along and you will receive a warm welcome.

Arrive around 10.30am and enjoy coffee and biscuit before the service. A good way to get to know us and relax.

We share two minister with the other churches in the group.

John has been with us the longest, he is a very quiet talented man with a good singing voice and the ability to play both piano and organ.  He has an unusual hobby for these parts though - he loves to play croquet.

Annette first came to the group as a student before being ordained as our second minister.  She is a very dedicated lady and loves doing girlie things like sewing, sugar craft and making other arty things.  She can sing too.

------------

Provi Circle - Ladies only here.  We meet on the fourth Monday of each month for a coffee and a chat with trips out to the theatre and local restaurants.  We are the brains behind church functions as its our job to organise things such as Gift Day meals, parties and whatever social activity the congregation suggests.

The venue is usually a members house.  Kick off time 7.30pm

     ------------

Tuesday Fellowship - You can join us on the first Tuesday of each month, men and women.  We often have guest speakers who are passionate about their subjects, or we have friendly rivalry as we enjoy a game of scrabble, dominoes or cards.

Do come along starting time is 2.00pm

------------

Garden Gang - Meet each Tuesday evening throughout the summer to tend to the grounds.  The biggest job is cutting the lawns but we now have it down to a fine art.  It takes about an hour to complete the work so we are not much of a nuisance to our neighbours.  You've guessed it! we finish with coffee and a chat.

Meet us at 6.00pm if gardening is your forte.

------------

Brownies - Gather forces on Friday evenings during school term time.  We have lots of fun! making all sorts of things, we even have competitions to see who can grow the biggest Sunflower or best Tomato.  Games are a big part of our activities but everything we do is based on having FUN FUN FUN.

6.30pm is the time to come along and meet the Owls and their pack.
